Bespoke Jewellery: Tessa Packard and Russell Hart
Contemporary fine jewellery designer Tessa Packard alongside goldsmith Russell Hart show how designer and goldsmith work together, co-hosted by Charlie Boyd, Executive Jewellery Editor at Harper’s Bazaar. Alongside afternoon tea, guests will also have the chance to design their own pair of bespoke earrings to be made by Russell after the event.
Providing a comprehensive step-by-step guide to designing and creating jewellery from the point of view of both the designer and craftsman, both sides share their expertise, starting with the initial idea and design concept, including live sketching demonstrations by Tessa, through to making the piece.
A Q&A follows, after which guests are presented with an assortment of gemstones, charms and precious metals and given a masterclass in design. Those who wish will have the option to have their newly designed creations commissioned into jewellery by Tessa and Russell.
Russell Hart first opened for business in 1983, after serving a full five-year apprenticeship, and a further two years in manufacturing, making jewellery for many of the top West End jewellery houses.
Tessa Packard is a self-taught jewellery designer. A strong believer in British industry, she made the decision for all of her jewellery to be manufactured and hand finished by British workshops and continues to do so. Launched in 2013, the label has fast become internationally recognised for designing eclectic bi-annual collections that celebrate both individuality and storytelling.
