An exhibition of works by craftspeople who inspire, delight and inform contemporary craft practice, taking the theme of ‘Head, Hand and Heart’. Based in the showroom of Helen Yardley Studio, the exhibition ranges from furnishings to decorative objects.

In partnership with host and rug designer Helen Yardley and design expert Barbara Chandler, Design-Nation invites their network members to respond to the John Ruskin-inspired theme. What are their moments of inspiration; the most intricate thing that their hands do; and importantly, what makes their hearts happy about their work?

Explore a display of inspired and inspiring work, including furniture and marquetry from Christine Meyer-Eaglestone and Hugh Miller; ceramics by Harriet Elkerton and Linda Bloomfield; rugs by Helen Yardley and Angie Parker; interior textiles by Anna Gravelle and Jacky Puzey; glass by Clare L Wilson; and objets d’art by Ruth Singer and Gizella Warburton.

The exhibition is complemented by a full programme of events each day, including demonstrations, maker talks, and a Thursday Late with special partners. Full details can be found on their microsite: designnationshowcase.co.uk.

Design-Nation’s members’ portfolio can be used to buy, commission, collaborate, consult, trade, collect, source, research and innovate. Design-Nation: future thinking for craft and design.
