HOWE and Plain English collaborate on a Georgian-Inspired Kitchen
Talk, booking necessary, 20 places, £12 includes tea or coffee and a piece of Georgian cake
Installation, booking not necessary, free.
Christopher Howe, of Howe London, and Merlin Wright, creative director at Plain English, discuss their collaborative work in crafting a Georgian-inspired kitchen in the basement of the Howe showroom. The discussion extends to Georgian cake, with samples to try, and Howe tabletop accessories, available to buy.
Christopher Howe, antique dealer, designer and furniture maker, values the kitchen as an anchor from which to construct a considered way of life. Through decades of collecting, designing and furnishing works for the UK’s most treasured historical homes, Christopher has grown to love the Georgian style of kitchen, such as those preserved today at Petworth House and Castle Drogo.
In seeking to make his showroom on Pimlico Road a more homely workplace for his team and a welcoming destination for his clients, Christopher asked Plain English, the bespoke kitchen makers, to collaborate on designing and making a bespoke kitchen which would stretch the length of his showroom’s basement. The result is a collaborative masterpiece of craftsmanship and creative vision, enhanced further by Howe’s practical and intriguing collection of tableware and kitchen accessories.
£5 of each ticket will be donated to Save the Rhino.
