Julian Stair Studio Opening
Meaning and Matter: a chance to talk about current work with Julian Stair in his studio and see some pieces on display.
Julian Stair has been a potter for over forty years and has worked on numerous museum collections including the V&A, Boijmans Museum, Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art, British Museum and Museum of Art & Design, New York. Recent exhibitions include Quietus: The Vessel, Death and the Human Body, (mima, NMW Cardiff, Winchester Cathedral, Somerset House, London) and Re-Naturing the Vessel, (Rosemarie Jäger Gallery, Hochheim). Julian also writes about pots; his PhD researched the origins of British studio ceramics, in particular its relationship to early English Modernism.
