The Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship presents Doppia Firma
Doppia Firma, Italian for "double signature", exhibits the collaborative fruits of a selection of the best European designers with the finest Italian master artisans. Tasked to pushing the limits of both design and materials, each designer-artisan pair has created a unique, functional object of beauty which embodies the marriage of creativity and craftsmanship. A project of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte and Living for the 2017 edition of the Salone del Mobile, Doppia Firma is presented here for the first time outside Italy by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship.
The first edition of the project debuted at the Salone del Mobile in 2016 and met with enormous success; the second adds an international dimension. With London Craft Week as its first stop outside Italy, the exhibit will travel to select European capitals throughout 2017.
Doppia Firma has been developed by the Milan-based Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte and Living, the lifestyle magazine of Corriere delle Sera, with the support of the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship, a new, Geneva-based non-profit institution which seeks to preserve and protect fine craftsmanship by strengthening the links between the worlds of artisanship and design.
