Angie Lewin leads a workshop focusing on wood engraving and bookbinding. Participants get the opportunity to create a hardback journal on a theme of their choice and receive an introduction to the tools and basic techniques involved during this two day session.

On the first day, participants will receive an introduction to the tools and basic techniques involved, following which they will create their own wood engraved illustration. After working on a practice block, participants then move to their own piece of end-grain work, which are printed in a small edition either by hand or using the printing presses at LCBA. The second day sees participants creating a full cloth-covered, hardback journal incorporating their print on the cover.

Angie Lewin is a painter, designer and printmaker who creates limited edition linocut, wood engraving, lithograph and screen prints inspired by skeletal platforms seen against the sea and sky of North Norfolk and the Scottish Highlands. She is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, The Society of Wood Engravers and the Royal Watercolour Society.
