10 Hands Crafts is a celebration of contemporary Irish craft, based on a long tradition of craft and design. Discover the work of ten inspirational master craftspeople who share an enthusiasm for originality and innovation, making use of ten different materials and ten different skills. Working from West Cork, Ireland, and basing their contemporary designs on nature and the West Cork landscape, they often collaborate on artworks to learn new skills together,

Surrounded by mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, there is a special energy in the rugged West Cork landscape which inspires the creative minds who work there. Since the early 1960s, West Cork has become home to a large number of artists, designers and craftspeople who share a fascination with the landscape: the swell and sweep of its contours and the unique quality of its light. During the 1960s and 1970s, it was the creative community itself which attracted people looking to join a fully-fledged bohemian artists’ colony and enjoy an alternative lifestyle that continues today.

The materials used by 10 Hands Crafts include clay, bog oak, greenwood, leather, copper, fused glass and painted ceramics. They exhibit internationally.
