About
How is a handcrafted Christopher Guy upholstered piece finished? Watch an expert London Craftsmen Centre upholsterer cover a beautiful hand-carved chair at fabric showroom Altfield in Design Centre Chelsea Harbour. Learn about different stages of chair upholstery, top fabric and trimming, and which coverings work best for different types of upholstered furniture pieces.
The event takes place over a whole afternoon, with guests invited to watch the expert at work, covering and piping the CG Monte-Carlo chair in Altfield’s sumptuous Mylio fabric. The Monte-Carlo is a sleek occasional chair with a sweeping low back rest incorporating the signature CG Criss-Cross leg design. The frame is handcrafted from sustainably sourced mahogany, an extraordinarily strong and durable wood which, with careful treatment, can last a lifetime.
Christopher Guy creates extensive collections of exceptional furnishings, designed and expertly crafted in their Java ateliers. Founded over 25 years ago, CG pieces are designed to transcend modern, traditional and cultural boundaries. An uncompromising sense of style and a seam of elegance have ensured that CG redefines the aesthetics of design. CG creations can be seen in luxurious hotels, on Hollywood movie sets and in fine residences across the world.
