About
Join Maison Michel for a demonstration of their savoir-faire. An opportunity to discover the exceptional craftsmanship of the house as you follow the hatters and milliners while they make iconic hats and accessories.
The story of Maison Michel begins in 1936, when Auguste Michel opened his millinery at 65 rue Sainte-Anne in the heart of Paris. By the 1970s, Maison Michel had become the most coveted hat maker for Parisian haute-couture, which was booming at the time. Embodying the exceptional craftsmanship of French luxury, Maison Michel joined Chanel’s Métiers d’Art in 1997. Alongside collaborations with ready-to-wear and haute-couture ateliers, as well as its bespoke service, the house launched its eponymous line in 2006.
In 2015, Priscilla Royer became the artistic director of Maison Michel. Her hat designs are innovative, capturing the zeitgeist and responding to the cult of individuality that defines our era. Priscilla Royer has made headwear universal by developing pieces that suit both women and men, allowing each individual to express their personality.
A Maison Michel hat is the ultimate finishing touch to any silhouette. Every day, the hatters and milliners fashion new pieces according to a unique and precious savoir-faire carefully handed down from generation to generation for over 80 years and constantly enriched. In this exceptional space, expert hands move busily to the sounds of the steam bell, primping brushes, sewing machines and tapping hammers.
