Common Threads: Metalwork by Ane Christensen and Jewellery by Daphne Krinos
An exhibition showcasing metalwork by Ane Christensen and jewellery by Daphne Krinos, highlighting the common threads that run through both makers’ practices. Alongside finished pieces, the designers display models and objects that help reveal their making process. The exhibition continues until 8 June.
Ane Christensen is an established designer-maker who uses metal to create strong sculptural vessels and wall pieces, collected worldwide.
Daphne Krinos is an award-winning studio jeweller whose work has acquired a reputation for its distinctive graphic quality.
Both makers share a common aesthetic and thinking about making. London Craft Week presented the perfect opportunity for these two makers to get together and showcase their work at Studio Fusion Gallery.
Ane and Daphne decided to meet and exchange thoughts and ideas every few weeks for the months leading up to the show. They decided to exhibit a series of objects and models alongside their own finished work to give the visiting public a better understanding of their designing and making process, as well as pushing them both to develop new ideas in their own practice.
Their pieces are mostly exhibited in an open space, which the two makers have configured so it seamlessly works together.
