Copper Sculpture with Sadie Clayton
Artist Sadie Clayton hosts sculpture workshops in the Lobby of Ace Hotel London where, for the first time, she guides participants through the processes she uses to create with her signature material, copper – the element believed to bring good luck.
Sadie’s architectural approach to avant-garde shaping draws on her personal spirituality and the metaphysical properties of stones. Her garments and sculptures combine voluminous shapes, twisted proportions and crystalline surface textures. Sadie uses copper to express her creativity, but also her working process is a moment to focus and internalise – a time of mindfulness and head space.
Sadie has previously demonstrated her working process at Tate Modern and Tate Britain. In this two-hour workshop, participants create their own miniature tabletop sculpture using moodboards, pre-cut copper pieces and Sam Browne studs.
