Create Your Own Natural Dye for a Maison Errance Object
Learn how Maison Errance is readapting ancestral fabric dyeing techniques to create low-impact, locally-sourced dyes from fern. Using this process, make your own homemade dye and use it to colour a Maison Errance interior object.
About
Maison Errance’s creative process is based on their desire to use as many plants and mineral-sourced materials as possible, optimising their usage and designing with low environmental impact. By readapting ancestral fabric dyeing techniques, they create colours to dye interior objects, always keeping in mind the impact of their choices. They use locally foraged resources such as fern to create alternatives to chemically-based or non-ethical extracted pigments.
Discover Maison Errance’s process in a workshop hosted by co-founders Sarah Iannarella and Paul-Etienne Luca. Create your own low-impact, locally-sourced dye from fern, using this to colour a Maison Errance-designed Jesmonite interior object.
