Storytelling Through Jewellery, Tuesday 5 October, 6.30-8pm

Jewellers share their unique stories and how they communicate them through wearable art.

Conceptual jewellery designer/artist Katrin Spranger and Kelvin Birk, creator of contemporary jewellery and objects in precious metals and gemstones, together set up the K2 Academy of Contemporary Jewellery, which offers a comprehensive programme of jewellery courses. Winning international acclaim for her jewellery, Ute Decker creates work that is as much sculpture as body adornment. Ellen Monaghan designs and makes jewellery inspired by architecture, interiors and textile pattern. Working with traditional silversmithing techniques, Meron Wolde creates unique pieces with an element of chance in each.

Cockpit Arts is London’s largest and most diverse cluster of makers, with a global reputation. Home to 150 of London’s leading makers working in over 20 craft disciplines, join them for a curated tour and enjoy the best of contemporary craft, up close and personal.

Textile Talent, Wednesday 6 October, 6.30-8pm

Textile artists share their unique talents and varied approaches to stitch and fabric. Featuring Ekta Kaul, Eva Dennis, Hannah Refaat and Richard McVetis.

Textile artist Ekta Kaul creates embroidered maps that explore place, history and belonging through stitch. Eva Dennis, AKA Eva the Weaver, makes unique handwoven accessories from upcycled materials to create one-of-a-kind, statement pieces that have as little impact on the environment as possible. Using traditional forms of embroidery in contemporary and inventive ways, Hannah Refaat has designed a new line of embroidered luxury accessories. Richard McVetis uses a range of media including drawing, installation and textiles to explore our perception of space and time.
