Take this opportunity to sit with master craftswoman Senia Jugi and discover the traditional craft of plaiting from the Malaysian state of Sarawak.

Touch and feel the various leaves harvested from the natural surroundings to plait useful objects such as baskets, mats and hats. Explore the various motifs and their symbolic meanings through an interactive session with craftswoman Senia, organised by the National Craft Institute of Malaysia.

During each session, Senia will explain how the traditional “topi tunjang” or spiked hat is plaited, and share the legend of how it was first created.
