Collective Matter invite you on a tour of their purpose-built studio in Bermondsey and new outdoor project space, The Potting Shed, at Contemporary Sculpture Fulmer. Explore the sites through ceramic demonstrations, performances, hands-on workshops and a new exhibition of residents’ artworks.

Meet Collective Matter at their studio (part of Sugarhouse studios, with Turner Prize-winning Assemble) for a tour and ceramic demonstrations, before travelling with them to their latest venture, The Potting Shed. Here, they present the outcomes from two Emerging Artist Residencies with ceramic artists Jo Pearl (Thursday 9 May) and Anke Buchmann (Sunday 12 May).

Located in the beautiful sculpture park Contemporary Sculpture Fulmer (20 minutes outside London by train), The Potting Shed was made in collaboration with designer Geoffrey Hagger and is a functional art installation and project space. The wooden pavilion is inspired by Bauhaus and Japanese architecture, with 400 smoke-fired tiles forming the floor.

Each day offers unique and different exhibitions, demonstrations and experiences alongside the tours:

Wednesday 8 May:

Jo Pearl presents her large-scale installation of a shadow puppet Golem and invites visitors to join in a collaborative workshop to build a clay golem, which will become a permanent feature of the Park. Includes a drinks reception and tour of the grounds.

Sunday 12 May:

Anke Buchmann presents an installation of meditative ceramics made by herself and in collaboration with studio visitors, including a live throwing performance and clay meditation workshop. Includes a drinks reception and tour of the grounds.

Ticket price includes return transport from the London to the Potting Shed at Contemporary Sculpture Fulmer.
