Pitzhanger Design Series: The Art of Wallpaper
Almost any wallpaper can bring a room to life, but those that are handcrafted or hand painted are works of art in themselves, bringing extraordinary richness and atmosphere to an interior.

Interior designer and antiques dealer Adam Bray talks with three wallpaper creators about their beautiful papers, the techniques and history behind them and how and why we should use wallpaper today. The panel includes Hannah Cecil Gurney of de Gournay, creators of the finest hand-painted and hand-embroidered wallcoverings; Lulu Lytle, co-founder and director of Soane Britain, which designs and creates wallpapers by craftsmen in Britain; and Allyson McDermott, arguably the world’s leading authority on conserving, recreating and hanging historic wallpapers.

This talk is held in-person at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery on Wednesday 6 October from 6.30pm. The talk is also livestreamed for those visitors who wish to attend digitally. Ticket options available.
