Freud’s Fabrics: Curator’s Tour of the Freud Museum’s Textiles
An exclusive after-hours tour by the curator of the Freud Museum’s textiles, including an in-depth look at Sigmund Freud’s famous psychoanalytic couch. A glass of wine is provided upon arrival.
Freud Museum curator Bryony Davies leads an exclusive tour of the significant textile pieces of the collection, including Freud's coat and Anna Freud's weaving loom alongside the famous Freudian couch and the q'ashqai rug that rests upon it. The evening also includes an introduction to the Freud Museum by director Carol Seigel.
The Freud Museum's participation offers a unique contribution to the London Craft Week agenda, delving into this one-of-a-kind collection and the life and work of Sigmund Freud, founder of the psychoanalysis, and his daughter Anna Freud, a pioneer in child psychoanalysis – both former residents of 20 Maresfield Gardens.
