Robertaebasta London hosts Caterina Licitra-Ponti for an event dedicated to the great master of Italian design, Gio Ponti. Caterina, Ponti’s great-granddaughter and associate at Lisa Ponti Archives, joins Mattia Maurizio Martinelli, Robertaebasta’s general director, to discuss the life and legacy of a man who greatly influenced the realm of design and architecture, both in Italy and abroad.
Caterina Licitra-Ponti shares family memories, shedding new light on the private man behind the prolific architect and designer. Gio Ponti, whose career spanned more than six decades, is internationally regarded as one of the leading creative minds and intellectuals of the 20th century. His passion and curiosity allowed him to experiment in several craft disciplines, from industrial design and art to architecture and publishing. He conceived a new way of living that the modern man had to embrace through architecture and design.
