Kitchen Knives and How to Use Them Correctly
Join Borough Kitchen for a practical, hands-on lesson on how to use kitchen knives correctly, with a focus on why high-quality craftsmanship makes such a big difference. Enjoy dinner at the end of the workshop and leave with a thorough understanding of how to apply these techniques any time you cook a meal.
About
Join Borough Kitchen for an interactive, skills-based workshop about the most important tool in your kitchen: a good, sharp knife. In this abridged version of their signature Applied Knife Techniques class — featured in the Evening Standard, BBC Good Food, and more — they go through the difference between European and Japanese knives, how to simplify (and enjoy!) would-be tedious tasks like chopping onions and so much more.
During the workshop, participants gain a practical understanding of these skills by making a rainbow salad that utilises different classic cuts and a variety of ingredients. Experience for yourself all the little ways a high-quality knife works to ensure food prep is easy and enjoyable. Finishing with a meal that features the salad you made, participants leave with a thorough understanding of how to apply these techniques any time you cook a meal, and what to look for when investing in knives.
