Make Your Own Wedgie with Maria-Ines Gul at Couverture
A workshop hosted by designer Maria-Ines Gul in collaboration with Wedgie, a fair trade, independent wooden handicrafts company that works with men and women in rural Sri Lanka to create innovative doorstops. Participants are given the chance to design and create their own Wedgie.
Since its inception almost 20 years ago, the Notting Hill store Couverture has focused on supporting craftsmanship and independent design sourced from across the globe. For London Craft Week they are collaborating with Wedgie, highlighting their innovative door stops based on famous personalities and not-so-famous stereotypes. Examples include Frida Kahlo, Karl Lagerfeld, Cher and David Bowie. Having teamed up with designer and illustrator Maria-Ines Gul on an exclusive design, she hosts the two-hour workshop and guides participants on making their own Wedgie. All materials are provided.
