Tania Clarke Hall is an award-winning jeweller renowned for her innovative and dramatic designs. She fashions her pieces by hand from Italian leather at her London studio.
This workshop on Sunday 10 October from 2-5pm, participants will learn how to make a beautiful leather cuff.
Tania is currently developing a project to teach women from an underprivileged historic neighbourhood of Cairo, Egypt, about how to make leather jewellery pieces from scraps featuring designs inspired by the historic buildings around them. As part of this workshop, she will share fascinating patterns from the architecture of medieval Cairo to inspire participants. She will also give participants a short introduction to her community development project and the ways in which craft is being used to improve people’s livelihoods through the work of organisations like Mishka and The Barakat Trust.
