Meet the Conservators of the Houses of Parliament
Tour, 11 May 16:30 — 18:30
The Houses of Parliament is hosting a number of late afternoon tours, with the opportunity to meet some of the highly-skilled members of the craft teams who conserve and maintain the furniture, furnishings and fabric of the building.
These 90 minute tours allow you to marvel at the wonderful frescoes, portraits, statues, thrones, fireplaces and furniture designed and created by craftsmen of a bygone era, and also discover some of the restoration techniques employed in their conservation.
Highlights of the tour include meeting a project leader for the renovation of Westminster Hall and chatting to a member of the curator’s team about the mosaics of the UK’s four patron saints in Central Lobby.
