Method, Make and Modern Sculpture: An Exhibition of Work by Zuza Mengham
Discover the work of Zuza Mengham, a London-based multidisciplinary artist, through a collection of sculptures exhibited throughout the J&M Davidson boutique. On Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 May, Zuza discusses how she works with her medium, what inspires her and how she creates her unique pieces. Exhibition continues until Wednesday 22 May.
Zuza Mengham is known for her play on merging natural with synthetic elements, both historical and contemporary. During London Craft Week, she is creating a new set of works in response to J&M Davidson’s Spring Summer 2019 collection and their boutique, which was designed by award-winning architecture and interiors practice Universal Design Studio.
The collection builds around Zuza’s clever way of working clean lines into abstract form using Jesmonite – a material which lends itself well due to its chameleon qualities. Calling for neutral tones, the collection is peppered with materials such as marble, slate and bronze – teasing through the sculpture’s surfaces, they work in harmony with their new surroundings.
