Monogramming Workshop with Sophie Conran and Atelier Saint Clare
£60.00 – £110.00
Monograms have been used throughout British history to add a personal touch to items of clothing and keepsakes. Join Stephanie Bonneau and Sophie Conran to learn how to monogram a signature scallop pillowcase and hear about their mutual love of craft.
Join Sophie Conran at the Hotel Café Royal for a monogramming workshop, where you will learn the process of drawing and transferring your initials onto a Sophie Conran signature scallop-embroidered pillowcase using the technique ‘prick and pounce’.
The stem stitch and satin stitch which are used to embroider a monogram are introduced on a practice piece, before moving on to the deluxe pillowcase. The aim of this class is to provide an introduction to the art of monogramming.
Sophie Conran is a renowned designer and daughter of Sir Terence Conran and multi-award-winning cookery writer Caroline Conran. During the workshop, Sophie will discuss how her love of craft and curation inspired the creation of sophieconran.com, a homeware emporium encompassing Sophie’s own exclusive designs as well as artisan pieces that she has discovered around the world, brought together to inspire creativity in the home and to celebrate the joy in the every day.
The ticket price includes a complimentary glass of fizz served on arrival.
