After ten years of lying empty and neglected, Aylmer Hall (a Victorian Mission Hall in Leytonstone) has been painstakingly restored back to life to form four new studio spaces over the last 14 months.
From Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 October, Aylmer Hall Studios throws open its doors for the first time to host the wonderful Boat Building Academy, who are displaying some of their recent work, as well as furniture pieces from previous alumni.
Permanent residents Nest Design are on hand in their workroom to show some of the processes that go into their textile creations, with examples of their work including hangings, curtains and blinds on display throughout the building. On Thursday night, join a hosted discussion with Lucy Bathurst (of Nest) and Will Reed (of BBA) on the subject around the benefits of making to our mental health and wellbeing, followed by a drinks reception.
