Celebrating the golden age of the Wiener Moderne period, the Bonadea store on the Pimlico Road is transformed into a slice of Vienna with an exhibition of works by Bodo Sperlein and premier Austrian artisan makers, Lobmeyr, Jarosinski & Vaugoin, Augarten and Wiener Blut.

Bonadea plays host to the European preview of the ‘Vienna Vibes’ exhibition cycle by Bodo, a variety of collections paying homage to the Wiener Werkstätte period, which is the inspiration behind Bodo’s recent collaborations with Viennese manufacturers. Befitting the salon-like surroundings of the store, the celebrated designer and creative director transforms the space to encapsulate Wiener Jugendstil.

The exhibition sees several exclusive product launches including Moire, the highly-anticipated glassware range. Designed by Bodo for renowned lighting and glassware workshop Lobmeyr, the exquisite collection features delicately engraved ultra-thin muslin glass pieces. The decor is inspired by the traditional French silk-weaving technique Moire, and is masterfully hand-engraved.

Also on show is Lobmeyr’s elegant Script lighting collection, designed by Bodo. Script is a range of customisable chandeliers, wall lights, floor lights and table lamps, available in gilded and silver-plated brass. The range is inspired by the simple lines within typography and brings the Viennese Secession style into the present.

Jarosinski & Vaugoin has been producing fine silverware for over 170 years. On show are the Onda and Orlo collections, designed by Bodo. The modular Onda range reinvigorates the centrepiece for 21st-century table-top culture, while the minimalistic Orlo hollowware range celebrates Viennese Art Nouveau, incorporating historical elements. Orlo inspired a series of silver perfume bottle toppers for perfumer Wiener Blut, produced in collaboration with the silversmith.

The heritage porcelain manufacturer Augarten premieres a new collection at Bonadea. For over 300 years Augarten has been producing some of the finest tableware. Bodo was invited to design a series of porcelain pieces encapsulating the ethos of the early 20th-century Viennese Moderne. Expect magic tablescaping at its best.
