Alasdair trained in Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Art and the Slade School of Art. For the last twenty years he has specialised in painting decorative schemes for interiors, particularly hand-printed wallpapers and murals. He has worked on restoration projects for the National Trust as well as for leading Interior designers and private clients.
His work draws strongly from the tradition of decorative and applied art that survives in Historical Interiors, especially the ‘Chinoiserie’ and ‘Panoramic Scenic’ papers of the 18th and early 19th Centuries. He has worked in many prominent historic houses including Blenheim Palace, Broadlands, Bowshill, Attingham Park, Felbrigg Hall Mulgrave Castle, Highclere and Longleat.
