About

Becky Hogg’s interest in embroidery was ignited in her early twenties, after completing a textiles degree at Loughborough Art College. With a passion to further her knowledge of historical textiles and embroidery, she embarked upon a three-year apprenticeship at the Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court Palace. The practical skills and professional practice acquired during her studies covered all aspects of hand embroidery, and now form an important part of her work today.

Working for over 20 years as a professional hand embroiderer, Becky now specialises in metal thread embroidery (Goldwork). The textures, jewellery-like finish and the good old fashioned sparkle hold endless inspiration for her as an embroidery designer, and she creates designs which reinterpret traditional techniques while keeping the embroidery fresh and contemporary.

She is involved in all aspects of production from design, to packaging, to production to supply. Her kits are stocked by the V&A Museum, The Royal School of Needlework and Lemmiko in Tokyo. Becky is also a tutor for workshops at The Royal School of Needlework. Her aim is to pass on the enjoyment of a skilled craft in a way that is fun and fulfilling.
