Caroline Groves

Caroline Groves grew up in a family of craftworkers in Chipping Campden under the influence of the legacy left by C.R Ashbee and the Guild of Handicraft, where her great grandfather was a master cabinetmaker and the longest serving member.

She began her career 30 years ago, initially training with a saddler and then within a small shoemaking business. In 2003 she established her own business. Caroline is personally involved in every process from client meeting and consultation to design, patternmaking, leather craftsmanship and traditional shoemaking techniques. Leather and its inherent qualities have always been Caroline's passion and she considers the shoe the ultimate expression of the leatherworker's craft.

Although Caroline is based in North Cotswold, she travels to London weekly, New York bi-annually and elsewhere at the request of her clientele. Amongst her clients are Grande Dames of the fashion, film, theatre and art world along with business women and other elite clientele.
