David holds a degree in Modern History and is a self-trained mosaic artist. He founded London School of Mosaic (formerly known as Southbank Mosaics) in 2004. His enthusiasm for mosaic art comes from his mission to transform, dark “no go” public space through the use of mosaic and as a collective project that engages the whole community. David has won 34 awards for his work, with 350 mosaic installations in the centre of London and is president of British Association for Modern Mosaic. He lectures on mosaic art for London School of Mosaic’s degree and diploma programme, as well as externally and has written two books; Mosaic Artisans (2012) and Queenhithe Mosaic (2014). He is currently partnering with London Borough of Camden and Mayor of London to create 75 artists’ studios next to the mosaic school.
