About
Ellen Mae Williams is a textile maker, creating sustainably dyed and hand-painted textiles using natural dyes. Her practice combines textiles with mark-making, each piece forms a direct dialogue with the environment from which they are inspired. All are unique, abstract interpretations of the natural world, reflecting the changing seasons of a landscape, looking at colour, texture and composition. This circular way of making, linking the source of her inspiration to the final outcome is the key philosophy to her practice.
Ellen is part of the Cockpit Collective, presenting ‘Textile + Surface’ at The Future of Craft, Oxo Tower Wharf for London Craft Week.
