F. P. Journe

Independent contemporary master watchmaker, François-Paul Journe, has been conceiving and manufacturing haute horology timepieces for forty years. Originally from Marseille, he started his education with 15 years at the local watchmaking school. In 1976 he received his watchmaking diploma in Paris and opened his studio in 1895. That same year he joined the watchmaker association AHCI.

His knowledge of history and expertise has led him to show a timeless consistency in his research and innovative powers. F.P. Journe has won the Aguille d'Or grand prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie on three occasions. No other manufacture has won the Aguille d'Or more than twice.

The independent F.P.Journe manufacture embodies excellence and the search for perfection, producing no more than nine hundred precision chronometers per year. Entirely invented and made in the Geneva manufacture, they bear the engraved inscription Invenit et Fecit, a hallmark of authenticity and seal of quality. Every watch’s components are entirely finished by hand, polished, bevelled and decorated with precise and patiently repeated gestures until they are flawless.
