Helen Yardley

Designer Helen Yardley studied textiles at the Royal College of Art, establishing her London studio in 1983. Her signature bold, painterly style includes dramatic use of colour. Innovative abstract rugs and wall hangings for a wide range of interiors as visualised as drawings for floors. These essentially abstract designs also carry subtle layers of meaning, more sustaining than simple decoration.

The Bermondsey studio hosts a showroom, design studio and a small production unit for prototypes and special commissions. Helen supervises, carefully selecting and balancing the yarn colours which have all been dyed to the unique HY Studio palette. All hand-tufted rugs are produced in the UK and hand-knotted rugs are made by skilled artisans in Nepal. Notable commissions include the House of Commons, Coutts Bank, Metropolitan Hotel, Fidelity Investments, Ernst and Young, and the Abu Dhabi stock exchange.

Helen Yardley is a brand ambassador for Design-Nation which she joined 2001.
