Jane de Sausmarez graduated from Central St Martins having studied printed textiles. She has been obsessed with colour since she saw oil in a puddle at the age of four. Jane has taught colour theory and practice in various different London art schools including the Conservation and Fine Art Departments at the City & Guilds of London Art School.
Jane is the author of a book on colour, Basic Colour: a Practical Handbook, published by Bloomsbury, and has given a talk at the National Gallery, entitled Colour: Understanding the Deception. For over fifteen years Jane has been running intensive colour workshops in London, for both students and professionals and she recently held courses in both New York and Nairobi.
