With twenty years of experience, Jim Fleeting brings a high level of knowledge, experience and attention to detail to both repairing and building acoustic, electric and base guitars and other fretted stringed instruments.
Based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, he makes and repairs guitars using a combination of modern engineering principles and traditional hand building techniques.
Jim is a graduate of the Roberto-Venn school of luthiery. In 2008, a QEST Scholarship allowed him to study the principles of “voicing” a guitar (shaping and carving the wood to determine its sound) alongside one of the world’s finest guitar-makers.
