Born in 1972, Kyouhong Lee originally majored in metal craft. He then went on to study glass in Edinburgh, Scotland where he was able to learn all the different techniques in glass making. Today he leads the contemporary glass making in Korea, as there are not many who work in this material. He alternates between teaching at the renowned Kookmin University graduate course and making his own work. Kyouhong is known for his experiments with glass as a material. He has shown his work internationally in Italy, the UK and more. He has participated in major exhibitions around the world. Kyouhong Lee is an important artist for the development of contemporary Korean glass.
