Originally from Cambridge, Luke studied graphic design at Chelsea College of Art and Design. After five years working in the industry he decided to follow his real passion: woodworking and furniture design. Luke retrained as a cabinet maker, studying fine furniture making at the Building Crafts College in Stratford. He then gained valuable industry experience by working for Armstrong Vinton Furniture before opening his own practice. His distinctive approach draws on both strands of his training, by combining traditional craft skills and methods with a contemporary, almost graphic, aesthetic. “It is my aim", Luke says, "to design and make beautiful, sustainable and crafted pieces”.
