Born in Tokyo, Graduated from the BA(Hons) Academy of Arts course, Joshibi University of Art and Design, Tokyo. Started learning Fine binding in Tokyo. Diploma with merit in Fine Bookbinding and Conservation, Guildford College of Technology UK. Since graduating has given workshops, lectures and exhibitions in the various countries. Opened the ‘Jade Bookbinding Studio’ in London 1997, concentrating on private tuition, commissioned and personal work. Work held in public and private collections in the UK, USA, Europe and Japan. Awarded among 25 distinguished winners in Designer Bookbinders International Competition 2017 at Bodleian Library, Oxford U.K. One of the speakers at the Society of Bookbinders conference 2019.Elected Fellow of Designer Bookbinders [U.K.] in 2007. A member of The Society of Bookbinders [U.K.] and The Tokyo Bookbinding Club [Japan].
