About
Rosalind Wyatt is a British artist, originally trained in Western Calligraphy and Textiles at The Royal College of Art, London. For the past twenty years, Rosalind has worked to commission from her London studio, across the fields of fashion and film, art and design. ‘Writing with a needle’ is a technique she has established whereby she stitches by hand the handwriting of a person onto a garment.
For Rosalind, a person’s handwritten mark is like their voice – uniquely personal and worthy of preservation and appreciation. She has exhibited and taught internationally celebrating the relevance and beauty of handwriting and how this relates to our human evolution for this unique time.
Recent clients and projects include: ‘Tenth Muse’ installation for Calligraphy Biennale Sharjah (UAE); Couture Art & embroidery for Burberry UK , leading cast members of the Oscar winning film ‘The Favourite’ in writing with a quill; Calligraphy for branding for Wordsearch UK & Architect Thierry Despont.
