Steve Cook is a London based designer maker of furniture and objects in wood.
“I love the variety and challenges involved in commissioned work from private clients, architects and public bodies through to collaborations with artists and fellow makers.”
“The desire to realise my client’s vision by making each piece beautifully and truly bespoke is what ties my work together”
2019 sees Steve developing speculative pieces informed by his background in fine art and antiques. Passionate about the importance of craft skills and quality he is also a co-founder and member of WorkshopEast; a wood workshop for a collection of London’s brightest and best designer maker talent.
“..while high costs are pushing many independent makers away from the capital, WorkshopEast plays a role in retaining the craft skills needed in the heart of London.”
Steve is a QEST scholar and recipient of the Carpenters’ Company Prize.
