Steve Harold

Steve Harold first encountered clay while still at school, and immediately felt an affinity for the
material.
Harold’s early production was focused on domestic stoneware, he then spent a couple of years making rustic style salt glaze for export to Holland and Germany. In the 1980s, he recognised the declining interest in traditional stoneware, so he had a complete change, and moved to working exclusively in fine terracotta.
For over 30 years Harold has designed and produced a vast and diverse range of pots and bespoke items. Everything is hand thrown and finished with great attention to detail. The strength and durability of Harold’s work is achieved by firing the pieces at 1160⁰C.
