Tana West

RCA graduate and BCB 2017 AWARD winner, West illustrates her practice as an artist as "a present-day hunter-gatherer in search for materials”. She collects and uses estuarine mud, excavated clay, brick and rock fragments to make glazes and clay bodies, which are regionally specific. Additionally, West works with traditional techniques to make ceramic objects that connect maker with locality and local concerns: “It resides in a conversation between imagination and experience."

Amongst several other exhibitions, Tana West will continue to work with the British Ceramics Biennial in a commissioned exhibit for the BCB 2019.
