Located in the Western District, Hong Kong, Tuck Chong Sum Kee Bamboo Steamer Company has been operating for more than sixty years, and the current owner, Lam Ying Hung, is the fifth generation descendent of the founder. The shop serves as both a small factory and a venue for demonstrating traditional bamboo crafting and offers customization on bamboo products. Besides bamboo steamers, the company also sells a selection of small bamboo products.
In the late 1950s, the company relocated from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, and found its base in Sai Ying Pun for its proximity to Central and Sheung Wan, which facilitates delivery to restaurants in the area, including the longstanding tea houses “Luk Yu” and “Lin Heung”. They also supply bamboo steamers to Chinatowns around the world.
