Tuesday Riddell is a Newcastle-born artist based in London. She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School and is this year’s Painter-Stainer's Decorative Surface Fellow at the Art School. She works in oil on canvas and in sculpture, producing luscious and intriguing works that explore our attitudes to nature and artifice. Tuesday holds an enduring fascination with japanning, a 17th century form of lacquering included on the Radcliffe Red List of Endangered Crafts and is interested in in exploring its place in the contemporary landscape.
Her work was recently exhibited at Viktor Wynd's Museum of Curiosities and she has an upcoming group show with Subsidiary Projects.
